Idea Day13: OnLineLife Track
1. Of course, an ID to Sign in first (OpenID?)
2. A centralized service collects websites a user visited. Other info including: How long users have stayed, and how many times they have been there.
3 All information is encrypted. Only track owners can decode it by a pair of digital keys. (RSA ?)
4. Users can search for statistics of tracks through inputing a range of time and find out how they spent (waste) their digital life online.
5. The personal search engine can help users find information they had read before, and want to check out again. (I used to open numerous tabs in Firefox marked as “to be read later”, but always too busy to check them later, and too lazy to add bookmarks to del.icio.us-like sites. Everytime I try to recall the information, I remember only 1 or 2 key phrases or concepts. If I search those key words in the DB of my track, the chance that I get exactly what I had read before is higher than search in google. ) ps. Google Desktop may be able do this, if every webpages are cached locally.
6. A potential DB for SNS. (how to process data encrypted?) System can pair users with similar interests and send recommendation of websites to them. Or send invitations to each of them to be friends. (Many SNS are doing this through various sources of DB, but tack record here are more reliable and accurate one.)
It’s like a store-info-on-Internet version of Idea Day9 and replace the function of history browsers provided, with limitless capacity.
50 years later, when I have a sudden whim to check out what I did visit when I was young, it will be a strange and exciting experience, as long as the good old Internet wont become part of past-history…
