Idea Day17: AdReviews
In addition to google AdSense, is there any way for individual to earn money from audience-targeting ads? Content of reviews is what I come up with. Before making major decisions, say buying a laptop, checking available reviews online is a smart move. The process of reading reviews is highly involved, not to mention the motivation behind it, “I’m going to buy something.” So I try to draft 3 models utilizing the power of reviews.
Model A:
One writes a review about product/service A –> (standard format required) –> others click this article –> (make sure readers read the content) –> count numbers of valid clicks –> company of product/service A pays per click to the author.
Model B:
One writes a review about product/service B –> (standard format required) –> others click this article –> readers rate the usefulness of this review after reading (either positive or negative) –> count overall rating + number of valid clicks –> payment according to total scores of this review.
Model C:
One writes a review about product/service C, and the sponsor/advertiser’s links fused with content –> (standard format required) –> others click this article –> count the number of clicks on advertising links –> payment based on valid clicks of sponsored links
ps. Links of competing brand names can be included in case of comparison, if advertisers won’t get angry about it.
Platform:
Centralized: A websites to do aforementioned with a vertical search engine.
Decentralized: Websites featuring functionality of review,
blogs, online retailers, forums, etc.
Just a quick thought, but this idea certainly merit further development.
