Idea Day19: Speak To Your God

It’s a crazy, wild idea.

Each religion has their own form of prayer, so how about a new “channel” that fits all prayers around the wold - speak to your God on the web. This idea might sound no good at all for conservative/serious religious group, but I’m not here to spark depute. What I’m thinking is a way to express your faith, a way to reveal and repair your weakness, and a way to let your faith know your goal, review your progress, and achieve it in the long run, all in a web-lized presentation.

a.) Post your prayer (voice/text/video) either anonymously or not.

b.) Comment is opened up or not. If you think only your God can comment on your prayers, close it.

c.) If you feel better after praying, mark this prayer.

d.) Tag prayers of others. If you face similar confusion/frustration/depress next time, search for related tags to help you!

e.) Monetization: It should be a non-profit organization. You gain invaluable results from this site, so please donate some money back!

Just a draft of thinking, I hope it won’t irritate anyone!

I really like this idea. I’m not sure about many other religions, but from a Protestant Christian view it works perfectly (at least from the world view that I believe). The purpose of the church is to create community, and corporate prayer is extremely important. Your idea helps voice prayers in general, which provides basis for emotional/spiritual support. A few situations come in mind: A member may post a prayer, where someone else may pray the same prayer in support or pray a general prayer for the original poster. You had also mentioned finding solace in others with the same prayer. Furthermore, a community like this would encourage genuineness and authenticity, due to a deliberate act of vocal expression that incites self-analysis. Obviously, problems with people intentionally trolling or disrupting activity would be a large issue, but may actually increase awareness and may help explain many misconceptions and dispel stereotypes. By the way, great ideas and thank you for mentioning me.

Hi Brian~

“someone else may pray the same prayer in support or pray a general prayer for the original poster.”

I totally agree with you, “support” is the core value of this sort of community. Also, it would be nice If supporters can get to know the original poster, and support them in the real world.

btw, I suppose you are a Chinese? (from your last name, Liu.)
