Idea Day38: It’s Time For Bloggers’ Agents
Taking care of their lucrative potential (ethical?) earnings.
I had a dinner with friends tonight, and one working in marketing dep. told me that some bloggers in Taiwan get payment to write reviews or stories or any from of articles to promote a product of service from certain companies. It’s ok to do so. But the problem is most of them don’t disclose their deals. What’s more, the pays varied greatly and seems to depend on how much the writer is willing to offer/ accept. It’s a potential market without a standardized price level. Which surprises me, since I can’t believe bloggers here have gone so far. (almost pay per post) Web 2.0 buzz in TW is just getting started, so there is not much attention or discussing about how to build a model for those (especially celebrities of blogosphere) who want to earn some pocket money from their posts.
Perhaps they are not patient enough to wait another platform like PayPerPost emerging from our lcocal market. For web 2.0 premature markets, my take: Like what famous singers or movie stars are doing well now, hiring a broker or agent is the fastest and easiest (but not necessary the cheapest) way to get a good deal. However, make sure to disclose every sponsored deal and earn from your posts honestly. So that one day we might have a new category of job description - blogger (star) Agent. Agents 2.0, are you listening? Go hunt blogs with more than 10000 visiters per day!
